JUNIOR FOOTBALL AT COASTAL SPIRIT

Coastal Spirit has a strong junior club, ranging from 4 years old up to the 18th grade. The club welcomes all new and existing players to register for the 2024 season.

For the young ones, Coastal Spirit runs three NZ Football accredited sessions on Saturday mornings at Linfield. Mini First Kicks is the younger group, aged 3-4 years, First Kicks aged 5 – 6 years and Fun Football is aimed at 7-8 year olds. It is full of excellent skills and fun games, and run by trained coaches from within the club. More information here.

From 9th grade up to 18th grade, Coastal Spirit has many teams in a variety of divisions playing in the Canterbury wide competition administered by Mainland Football.

Players will be provided with a playing shirt, but will need to provide their own shorts, socks and shin-pads.  Official Coastal Spirit apparel can be purchased from our online store if desired (optional).

Registration Fees for 2024:

We try to keep our pricing as low as possible as we know that pricing can be a big factor in your child playing.  We are a non-profit organisation and our main focus is getting as many kids as possible playing the awesome game of football.

First Kicks - 4 - 6 year olds $70.00 Fun Football - 7 & 8 year olds $105.00 Junior Football – 9 – 12 years olds $170.00
Youth Football – 13 – 18 year olds $180.00

The Scorching Goal Football Fund has been established to assist children and youth attending primary or secondary school, aged between 5 years and 18 years who are from financially disadvantaged families or backgrounds, and where finance is a barrier to participation, either at club level, across development programmes or at representative level.

This is not a fund established to specifically support talented players but is rather about providing children and youth with the opportunity to continue to participate in football.

Each year Mainland Football will endeavour to run a specific fundraiser and will continue to seek other donations to ensure it does not exhaust its start-up fund equity.

We understand;

  • That football talent exists across our Federation and we want to ensure opportunities are provided to players who otherwise may miss out.

  • The need for kids to “fall in love” with football and not to be denied opportunities to do so through no fault of their own.

  • The health and well-being advantages of having thousands of healthy active football kids.

Coaches have a profoundly positive effect on young people. If you enjoy working with people and want to make a difference in young people’s lives, we would like to have you as one of our coaches. We provide on the job training and provide funding to attend formal coach education courses.  If you are interested please email admin@coastalspirit.nz
