2021 Kate Sheppard Cup - Preview

The 2021 Kate Sheppard Cup (known as the Football Foundation Kate Sheppard Cup) Founded in 1994, it was known as the Women's Knockout Cup, until it was renamed in 2018. What would have been the 2020 edition of the competition, was cancelled because of COVID-19.

Current holders - Eastern Suburbs (Auckland)

Coastal Spirit has dominated at the local level and at national cup level they been finalists in 2011 and 2019 and cup winners in 2013. There is still cup winning experience in the squad which will be critical for progression to the later stages.

In the first round of this years cup we will play University AFC who have had a good start to the season in terms of scoring goals and I am sure will not be taking lightly for this round one match.

In the encounter between these teams in the New World Premiership in 2021 Coastal were 4-0 winners but University AFC has gone on to wins against Nomads and Bays and involved in a 7-4 loss against Cashmere Technical, so we can be certain there will be goals.

Game: Round 1 vs University AFC

Kickoff: 12:30pm

Location: Ilam Fields (map below)
